Lately I've seen so much people cry about the flock cameras popping up everywhere. The question im really asking myself is..
>Why cry about it now?
I hear them say things like
>We don't know what the camera feeds are used for
>We don't know how the data is handled
>A doppelganger could put you in trouble
>A police officer or a private company could use this data to know your whereabouts and what you're doing
Yet security systems have been monitoring all of you for decades in every store you've ever been to, every mall aisle, every parking lot.
For the last decade, Ring & Chink shit cameras at your friend's house have been monitoring all of your outings. There are possibly thousands of hours worth of footage of you walking around both inside and outside.
Speeding cameras too. They've been a thing for at least 2 decades now. I've been caught by one once.
But now... All of a sudden, it seems that the popular thing to do is cry about the FLOCK cameras, and only that brand of Camera specifically. The other cameras are fine, they argue, because they're located on "private premises".
I hate these pseudo-punk types:
Well spoken, appears to know what they're talking about, but all of his arguments stop making sense once he starts to compare the flock world to the previous landscape... "Before" flock. There is no difference.
The only thing worth mentioning about that specific brand of cameras is that the access logs are now private. You may never know what type of data was accessed through the flock network. You may also never access the footage on these cameras either. People seem to hate that, but it's really moronic considering that's literally how every camera security system works out there (if we exclude the highway public feeds).
I sometimes see people on Instagram cutting flock cameras down and spraying them.. I don't see why they would only go after Flock. These speeding cameras need a good tear-down too, I suppose.
